On the online platform Google Arts & Culture, which provides access to art from museums worldwide, a platform about Ukrainian culture called "Ukraine is Here" has appeared. From now on, Ukraine has its own space on one of the most popular platforms in the world, which provides access to digital versions of works of art from 80 countries. They worked on the project for six years.

"Ukraine is Here" demonstrates the steadfast spirit of Ukraine and allows everyone to explore our rich culture and traditions. Ukrainian culture is presented in four sections: Culture, Architecture, Art and Nature.

The Google Arts & Culture platform enables:

  • explore authentic and interactive stories about Ukrainian culture;
  • visit virtual tours of famous museums and cultural centers of Ukraine (National Art Museum of Ukraine, National Center of Folk Culture "Ivan Honchar Museum", Museum of Theater, Music and Film Arts of Ukraine, etc.);
  • get acquainted with the works of Ukrainian artists in 6 virtual exhibition spaces.

Thanks to the efforts of the Ukrainian Skeiron team, the platform can display 3D models of more than 40 architectural objects in Google Arts & Culture and Google Search. Such cultural monuments are St. Sophia Cathedral, Palanok Castle and the National Opera of Ukraine. In addition, users of the "Ukraine near" project can visit virtual exhibitions, view the works of Ukrainian artists, and learn about centuries-old traditions, rituals and crafts. Here, foreigners will be able to discover a country that they knew very little about, and Ukrainians will be able to fall in love with their homeland again.

Objects damaged or destroyed by Russian invaders are also available on the platform. For example, the bell tower of the Assumption Cathedral in Kharkiv. A guide to the "pearls of Kyiv" with unique modern estates of the capital or monuments included in the UNESCO world heritage list is already available. Also, here you can learn about the history of the Ukrainian sunflower, which has been grown in Ukraine since the middle of the 18th century.

You can learn more about the "Ukraine is Here" project using the Google Arts & Culture mobile application on iOS and Android.

Let’s make our culture known to the world! Explore Ukraine and share the link with friends from other countries!
