The Library of Sumy State University presents an exhibition of paintings "The World of Graphics" dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Academic Art Gallery.

The Academic Art Gallery was founded in 1998 at the Ukrainian Academy of Banking. On 11 September, the gallery was presented and an exhibition of Sumy artists "The World of Drawing" was opened. Since then, the Akademichna Gallery has become a cultural centre not only in the university but also in the city. It has hosted 125 exhibitions featuring nearly 2,500 works of fine and decorative arts and photography.

The Gallery's art collection includes paintings and drawings by artists from Poland, Ukraine, Croatia and Switzerland.

The Event Room has been fruitfully cooperating with the Art Gallery for many years. More than 10 exhibitions of paintings have been jointly organised.

The exhibition "The World of Graphics" includes 35 works by famous authors, including: Igor Vasilevsky "Gliwice"; Ivan Lackovic (Croatia) "Musicians"; Oleksandr Lysenko "Transfiguration Cathedral in Sumy"; Oleksandr Shilo (Kharkiv): "Landscape with a River", "Monument to Taras Shevchenko in Kharkiv", "Spring Etude"; Oleksandra Tregubova "Nechesana barynia".

The artists demonstrate their ability to create an image using traditional art materials (watercolour, graphite and coloured pencils, felt-tip pen, dry needle), working fruitfully in the author's techniques.

The exhibition will be open until 11 November 2023 from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:30 in the Event Room of the Sumy State University Library (БІЦ-204).
