Every year, on the second Sunday of October, artist's Day is celebrated in Ukraine. This year it falls on October 9. Artists are the eyes of reality. In art, palettes crystallize the inner world of man, and the colours of deep feelings sound.

On artist's Day in the Library SumDU, we organized a personal exhibition of the famous Sumy artist Anna Chernenko
"With Ukraine in the heart".

Anna Chernenko was born in Sumy. Graduated from Sumy Art School. By profession - architect. Works in illustrative graphics technique.

«Through creativity, I try to be caring - to hug everyone who needs it, to give hope and faith in our Victory!»

Anna began to create these paintings immediately after the start of a full-scale invasion of Russia.

«The paintings depict both the joy for Ukraine, the pride for Ukrainians, and the horror we were experiencing. There are paintings from Bucha, after the shelling of Okhtyrka. Even drawing such terrible experiences, there were still some vivid moments that everything would be fine» - Anna Chernenko said in an interview.

A total of 21 works are presented in the exposition. The artist cooperates with the poets of Sumy region, so each work is supplemented with poetic lines. The artist's favourite work is the painting "Oh in the meadow of red viburnum", which was inspired by the famous Ukrainian patriotic song.

You can visit the exhibition by mid-November from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 4:00 pm at the Library of SumDU (Event Room, LIC-204).
